Canadian renewable energy dataset inventory

The Canadian Renewable Energy Dataset Inventory is an interactive web map that brings together a suite of renewable energy and supporting climate datasets to support clean energy research, planning, and analysis across Canada. The map includes layers representing:

  • existing wind energy infrastructure
  • offshore wind considerations in Atlantic Canada
  • hydrokinetic river resources
  • low‑head hydropower opportunities
  • modelled solar irradiance potential
  • standardized weather datasets used for energy modelling

The information in this map is intended for planning‑level analysis and comparative assessment. Each data layer is described in more detail below. Additionally, access to the complete datasets is available through the links below, along with supporting documentation, metadata, and related resources.

Layers are not visible by default in the map. To see the data, toggle the visibility to turn on the layers you want to view.
